Painter9 + Photoshop cs2
while i really enjoy painting the figures, the background isn't all that fun... i was wondering if there is a way to not having so much layer...(for example the text, i flatten all the text and duplicate it to 3 layers. all 3 layers are set to soft light. the first layers are in the identical place, the 3rd is in slightly displaced with the glow effect. on top of the text, there is an overlay of texture which also has a different blending mood. Now let's say i want to move the words 'with an' to slightly left, i realize i can't do it (without too much hassle)... since i can't flatten the text (this will remove the effect/layer mood) and i can't make partial selection since i have to move each individual layers then... hmm what to do?)
maybe should go for something more organic stroke next time...
or first have the stroke, only then plan/place the figures.
Still have lots to work on design senses '~'
btw... see if you can recognize who are the people in the ref i used... for the lady especially, i didn't care too much about making her look like the original photo. As for why i used them, i suppose just some random muse... i do like to put seemingly unrelated people's photo together to see if it can work out to become something else
